    1. Wandering beyond one's bounds; roving; hence, foreign.
       [Obs.]
             The extravagant and erring spirit hies To his

    2. Exceeding due bounds; wild; excessive; unrestrained; as,
       extravagant acts, wishes, praise, abuse.
