1. The condition or quality of being secure; secureness.
   Specifically:
   (a) Freedom from apprehension, anxiety, or care;
       confidence of power of safety; hence, assurance;
       certainty.
             His trembling hand had lost the ease, Which

   (b) Hence, carelessness; negligence; heedlessness.
