In the near future, as Earth`s energy resources are slowly depleted, a powerful corporation develops a series of genetic enhancements for the crew of a power plant located at the bottom of the ocean. After the undergoing the modification procedure, the crew members can never return to the surface. Unfortunately, an unforeseen side effect of the procedure is that it has a tendency to render the crew members into raving psychotics--not the sort of people who ought to be in control of the last viable power source on the planet.
