    The hook on the end of an eccentric rod opposite the strap.

    mocking, mockery, or OF. gab, gabe; perh. akin to E. gape, or
    gob. Cf. {Gab}, v. i., {Gibber}.]
    The mouth; hence, idle prate; chatter; unmeaning talk;
    loquaciousness. [Colloq.]
