Junebug lives in a housing project with his younger sister, Tasha, and his hardworking single mother. Junebug dreams of leaving his tough neighborhood behind, but as his 10th birthday approaches, he fears that he will be a prime target for recruitment by the gangs and drug dealers that congregate in his neighborhood.
