  1. \De*late"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Delated}; p. pr. & vb.
    n. {Delating}.] [L. delatus, used as p. p. of deferre. See
    {Tolerate}, and cf. 3d {Defer}, {Delay}, v.] [Obs. or
    Archaic]
    1. To carry; to convey.
             Try exactly the time wherein sound is delated.
                                                   --Bacon.
    2. To carry abroad; to spread; to make public.
             When the crime is delated or notorious. --Jer.
                                                   Taylor.
    3. To carry or bring against, as a charge; to inform against;
       to accuse; to denounce.
             As men were delated, they were marked down for such
             a fine.                               --Bp. Burnet.
    4. To carry on; to conduct. --Warner.
