1. A chief magistrate of a municipal town in Holland,
   Flanders, and Germany, corresponding to mayor in England
   and the United States; a burghmaster.
2. (Zo["o]l.) An aquatic bird, the glaucous gull ({Larus
   glaucus}), common in arctic regions.
