    1. The bubbles caused in fluids or liquors by fermentation or
       agitation; spume; foam; esp., a spume of saliva caused by
       disease or nervous excitement.
    
    2. Any empty, senseless show of wit or eloquence; rhetoric
       without thought. --Johnson.
