Hank Crawford is an Alaskan sea fisherman who falls on hard times and is forced to hire himself out to a Japanese fishing venture that escalates into a political issue between Japan and America. Hank is caught in the middle. In addition, he is shunned by his neighbors for going over to a rival firm, his marriage is suddenly in jeopardy, and a perilous storm puts him in personal danger as he tries to rescue a friend in trouble.
