Kon-tiki is the record of an astonishing adventure -- the journey of biologist Thor Heyerdahl across 4,300 nautical miles of the Pacific Ocean by raft. On April 28, 1947, he and five other adventurers sailed from Peru in an effort to duplicate this legendary voyage of the mythical here Kon-Tiki, eventually sighting the Palynesian island of Puka Puka.
