A young investment banker named Edward Wozny becomes involved in a bizarre situation when he finds that a pair of clients--a fabulously wealthy duke and duchess--hire him to catalog their long-neglected library of rare books. The plot gradually zeroes in on one of those books: a rare and elusive medieval text that may or may not exist.
