Suffering from cancer, fifth-grader Natalie must wear a knit cap and spend her life in a wheelchair. The other kids in school name her Bluish because of her pale skin. Dreenie, a new girl in the school, isn`t sure how to act around her, but is the first to find out that--in all the ways that count--she`s just like anyone else. Soon, the other fifth graders befriend her as well. Dreenie doesn`t know what will happen to her new and wonderful friend, but knows that Natalie has taught everyone a lot about living life to its fullest.
