   apportionment; as, to admeasure dower; to admeasure common
   of pasture. --Blackstone.

3. (Law) Formerly, the adjustment of proportion, or
   ascertainment of shares, as of dower or pasture held in
   common. This was by writ of admeasurement, directed to the
   sheriff.
