Video Production Definition and Meaning
Video production is the process of converting an idea into a video. The person who manages the production process is known as the producer. It involves the following sub processes:
- creating a concept, which usually entails storyboarding
- writing the script and dialogue
- finding the proper location(s) for the video shoots
- hiring the crew for the video shoots, and these include cameramen, lighting experts, makeup artists, set contruction workers
- casting: finding and hiring the talent (actors) for the video shoots
- finding a director for the video
- shooting the video
- post-production editing which includes visual and sound effects
