Video Production Definition and Meaning

Video production is the process of converting an idea into a video. The person who manages the production process is known as the producer. It involves the following sub processes:

• creating a concept, which usually entails storyboarding
• writing the script and dialogue
• finding the proper location(s) for the video shoots
• hiring the crew for the video shoots, and these include cameramen, lighting experts, makeup artists, set contruction workers
• casting: finding and hiring the talent (actors) for the video shoots
• finding a director for the video
• shooting the video
• post-production editing which includes visual and sound effects
