Mangowood Bowls - Set of Two (Thailand)
Add a touch of Thailand to your decor with this set of two Mango wood bowls. Thailand is well known for its abundance of mango wood trees; these trees have handsome wood which in turn makes beautiful decorative and functional items. All Mango wood products are handmade piece by piece. The craftsmen have to choose mango trees that are at least 10 years old, otherwise the wood is not strong enough to make products. The process starts from baking the wood in the oven to eliminate the moisture. Next they carve and shape them, after which they go through a hand polishing processes. The final step in the process is to stain them in black, cherry red, and brown followed by a protective lacquer finish. The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in color and sizing. Subtle shade variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities.
