Meaning of FROZEN SECTION

	Definition:		A thin slice of frozen biopsy tissue that is looked at under a microscope for a preliminary diagnosis. Although not 100 percent reliable, it is a quick way to prepare biopsy tissue so that it can be examined to see if cancer is present.
