\Ver*ru"gas\, n. [Sp., warts. Cf. {Verruca}.] (Med.)
An endemic disease occurring in the Andes in Peru,
characterized by warty tumors which ulcerate and bleed. It is
probably due to a special bacillus, and is often fatal.
