Unraveling
Aimee Slater, a mill girl in 19th-century New England, becomes pregnant by a fellow worker. Her horrified, repressive mother forces her to give up the twins she bears, but Aimee continues to live her sexually liberated life, and the two women become estranged. Finally, when Aimee`s mother is dying, there is a kind of reconciliation.
