Under House Arrest
Under House Arrest is a collection of Kharitonov`s autobiographical fiction. Kharitonov uses his experiences as a homosexual to say important truths about Soviet society. The collection includes all his best known pieces that circulated in samizdat. It is the first publication of his work in English. Born in 1941, Yevgeny Kharitonov died in Moscow when he was forty. His fiction was not officially published during his lifetime in the Soviet Union.
