Twelve-year-old Matthew Morrissey, an orphan living in New York, is hungry, tired, cold, and desperate to find a job. When he reads an advertisement calling for an assistant to the famous Dr. ABC, he can`t wait to prove he`s ready to do the job. But the doctor`s practice might prove to be a little much for Matthew to handle--he learns that he has to rob the graves of famous people and steal their heads, so that Dr. ABC can continue the study he is doing. Despite his misgivings, Matthew agrees, but something even more sinister is out to get the two of them...
