\Gly*cyr"rhi*zin\, n. [Cf. F. glycyrrhizine. See
{Glycyrrhiza}.] (Chem.)
A glucoside found in licorice root ({Glycyrrhiza}), in
monesia bark ({Chrysophyllum}), in the root of the walnut,
etc., and extracted as a yellow, amorphous powder, of a
bittersweet taste.
