A retelling of the legend of William Tell. In the 14th century, William Tell stood up to the Austrian Hapsburg rulers who were trying to oppress the Swiss. When Tell refused to kneel before the hat of the governor, he was punished by having to shoot an arrow through an apple that was balanced on his son`s head. Color illustrations accompany the text.
