    Goth. h?rs an adulterer, AS. h?r adultery, OHG. huor, and
    probably to L. carus dear. Cf. {Charity}.]
    A woman who practices unlawful sexual commerce with men,
    especially one who prostitutes her body for hire; a
    prostitute; a harlot. --Wyclif.
