| Definition: | | Trouble Man A group of interconnected African-American characters in Philadelphia provide the focus for this inspirational novel. Calvin has a young white mistress and wants a divorce from his middle-aged wife. His son C.J. has polycystic disease and is not doing well. His other son, Jermaine, whom he abandoned years ago, is a 30-ish pot dealer who is trying to change his life now that he has his own wife and kids. When Jermaine`s heroin-addicted uncle steals $30,000 from him, and then his friend is killed by a rival gang, events come to a head for Jermaine and, by extension, the other characters.
